About Me – Founder of Hearthway
My name is Gordon Muvuti. I’m a registered mental health nurse with over 25 years of experience supporting both adults and children across the NHS. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of standing beside people during some of the most vulnerable and complex moments of their lives moments that have shaped how I lead and why I care so deeply about creating safe, healing spaces.
Over the years, I’ve held several senior executive roles, helping to shape national and regional strategies aimed at improving care, safety, and equity especially for those who are often overlooked or underserved. My work has always been grounded in compassion, trauma-informed practice, and a commitment to safeguarding the most at-risk members of our communities.
Hearthway is an extension of everything I believe in. Every woman and child fleeing domestic abuse deserves more than just a bed—they deserve dignity, warmth, hope, and the real chance to rebuild their lives. That’s the vision we’re building toward: community-powered safety and meaningful recovery.
Beyond my professional work, driven by personal tragedy in the family, I’m also active on TikTok (@gordzcallingitout), where I use my platform to speak out on domestic abuse, misogyny, and the systemic injustices that harm women and girls. It’s a space where I connect with people, listen, and try to raise awareness in a way that’s direct but always respectful.
Work is underway to build a strong leadership team and appoint our first Trustees. Together, we’re laying the foundations for a movement not just a service.
